About the Hall

The National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF) is thrilled to establish the National High School Track & Field Hall of Fame, recognizing the greatest in the storied history of the sport from the late 19th century to the present day.

The mission of the National High School Track & Field Hall of Fame is to honor and celebrate the accomplishments, contributions, and character of high school track and field’s finest student athletes, coaches and contributors.

Each class of candidates are selected by a committee of leading historians and experts from the high school track and field community. The second class of 17 inductees will be inducted in a ceremony at the New York Athletic Club on March 10th.

Welcome to the National High School Track & Field Hall of Fame where we honor and celebrate the accomplishments, contributions, and character of high school track & field’s finest student athletes, coaches and contributors.
The Hall will honor inductees from three categories:

  1. Student-athletes who have demonstrated exemplary athletic performance and strong character while in high school;
  2. Coaches who have created excellence at the program level, achieving extraordinary results year after year; and
  3. Contributors, including administrators or media members who have elevated high school track and field through innovative work and tireless dedication.

For athletes, there is a 15-year waiting period from year of graduation to eligibility.

The mission of the NSAF is to create opportunities through track and field for our youth, prepare them for success off the field, and inspire them to live healthy and active lifestyles. With the National High School Track and Field Hall of Fame, we will recognize those individuals who have achieved the most exceptional success and made the most significant contributions toward fulfilling that mission.
