In a few sentences, tell why this person belongs in the National High School Track and Field Hall of Fame.

Esther was the youngest member of the 1968 US Olympic Team after finishing 3rd in the 400m at the Olympic Trials. She was also qualified for the 200m at the Trials, but didn't run.  She was just 15 years and 64 days old when she ran in Mexico City. She was leading her semi when she pulled a hamstring and finished 5th, not advancing to the final. In 1969, Esther was ranked 2nd in the US and 9th in the World at 400m by Track & Field News. Pre-Title IX. Esther ran for Sports International Track Club, where she was one of Brooks Johnson's first stars.

Her HS PR's are 200m: 23.6A (1971), and 400m: 53.58A (1968)
